School projects

»A little education adorns the whole person.«

Heinrich Heine

Verulam is a town in the South African province of KwaZulu-Natal by the Indian Ocean. With numerous churches, mosques, and temples, the town embraces many cultures and is home to vibrant diversity. Here, for example, Mahatma Gandhi personally opened the Shree Gopal Temple in 1913.

So it would be hard to find a better place to practice tolerance, open-mindedness, and equal opportunities. As in the Sacred Heart Secondary School, which the Heribert Nasch Foundation has supported now for many years.

And because equal opportunities naturally can’t be confined to one place only, we’re actively involved in further school projects in other towns, too

Our secondary school projects in South Africa:

Many of the girls in this school are AIDS orphans, and would not be able to attend school at all without support.

When we want to know about something, a few clicks on the Internet is all it takes. For us, this is a matter of course. But not for many people in the province of KwaZulu-Natal. And nor is going to school a matter of course.
