»The great aim of education is not knowledge but action.«
Herbert Spencer
For many children in South Africa, the symbolic door to education cannot be opened before fitting a few literal doors. Classroom doors, for example—for classrooms that either don’t even exist as yet, or that are so dilapidated as to require complete renovation.
Our support ranges from renovating individual classrooms to equipping schools with computer and science labs to rebuilding complete schools. In all our work, our aim is to create a firm foundation on which children and young people can live autonomous lives through education. Without any form of symbolism, but a most definitely pragmatic approach offering genuine perspectives.
Our special projects in South Africa:
When we want to know about something, a few clicks on the Internet is all it takes. For us, this is a matter of course. But not for many people in the province of KwaZulu-Natal. And nor is going to school a matter of course.

Many of the girls in this school are AIDS orphans, and would not be able to attend school at all without support.
